Shakedown Cruise- One Way

After leaving Greenpoint Marina, we spent two nights on the West River, just south of Annapolis. Third night out was in Mill Creek, which is on the Patuxent River. We are coordinating ways to manage Ruefus on the boat- he has a turf mat to relieve himself and we are getting better at transporting him from the boat to the dingy and back. All the systems are working good on Trilogy. After leaving Mill Creek, we rounded up into the Potomac- 90 miles in 3 days, fighting the currents and all the debris- driftwood from above normal water levels- dodging it constantly all day; kind of nerve-wracking. Anchored at Cobb Island and Mattawoman Creek on our way up the Potomac. Past Mount Vernon, the home of George Washington, and other historical places along the way. Made it to Washington D.C. today before noon. Anchored in the Washington Channel just 5 blocks south of the National Mall, where we took some of our posted pictures. Also pictured, Leiby and Ruefus with Trilogy anchored in the background, and Ruefus in his wheelchair. The local marina loaned us a cart so we could tote Ruefus around the city!
