Staten Island to Bridgeport, CT

On Saturday, we left our mooring at Great Kills Harbor and motored north to the Statue of Liberty. There was alot to see going through NYC- passed Manhattan island and up the East River through Hell Gate. We were able to sail after Hell Gate with a nice south wind. Anchored at City Island- a very scenic part of the Bronx with a history of ship building. We took a walk the next morning through City Island, then left for a 20 mile sail to Sheffield Harbor near South Norwalk, CT. On Monday, we sailed to Bridgeport, CT and took a slip on an island dock at Captain's Cove Seaport. Leiby needs to go home for this week to finish up some work- a big thank you to Tom for driving all the way here to provide a ride home for him, and to Glen and Robin for letting him stay at there place! Pictured: Leiby giving a ride to Ruefus in our dinghy, "Skippy"; the Manhattan skyline; Ruefus and the Statue of Liberty; and Darlene on a pillar platform at Sheffield Harbor.
